Neurons And Synapses.

We looked at artificial synapses - the perceptron - when we looked at neural networks. Let’s now look at their biological counterparts.

At its most basic level thoughts are made up of neurons firing along synapses.

 

In the video below, UNC neuroscientist Garret Stuber, PhD, used deep-tissue imaging techniques, including a new kind of tiny microscope to capture this video of individual neurons firing in the hippocampus brain region of a live and freely moving mouse.
