Big Data & AI

Big Data.

Big Data means data sets that are high volume, high velocity, and/or high variety. Big data sets are too voluminous and complex to use traditional data-processing application software to process. Big Data challenges include capturing data, data storage, data analysis, search, sharing, transfer, visualization, querying, updating, information privacy and data source.

Artificial Intelligence.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the theory and development of computer systems able to perform tasks normally requiring human intelligence, such as visual perception, speech recognition, decision-making, and translation between languages. AI very often uses Big Data to make predictions, and the advent of Big Data has enabled the rapid development of AI in recent times.

It’s essential to understand that whilst AI is often conflated with robots, AI and robotics are two different types of technologies. Whilst robots can make use of AI its essential to recognise that robots can also work without AI as well.
