Climate Change Demystified

   Watch Promo

The effects of climate change are crystal clear to see – longer, more intense heat waves that intensify bush fires and drought; plant and animal ranges are shifting; and sea level rise is accelerating.

Yet, these problems can translate into opportunities for innovative organisations.

In this course you will learn how to frame climate change mitigation and sustainability and make informed decisions that lead to sustainable innovation. The course will provide guidance for how to base decisions on sound science and statistics. It will demystify and remove the ‘hot air’ from the climate crisis debate and provide examples of how forward-thinking organisations are taking positive actions that are both good for the planet and their balance sheets. The course culminates in developing and presenting ideas and plans for new products that drive sustainability and profitability simultaneously.

When you have completed this course, you will understand the science and statistics underpinning climate and sustainability, and how these are impacting the world of business and the public sector. You will be able learn how to select the right data and analysis methods for different types of problems in order to make decisions about different aspects of climate change mitigation and sustainability. You will acquire the analytical skills needed to evaluate different types of technological, social and policy solutions. You will have explored real-world case studies across a range of business and public sector scenarios, including risk analysis and earning potential for different types of solutions.

The course will demystify key concepts, models, and solution options. For example, we will demystify concepts such as global warming, greenhouse gasses, air pollution, clean water and food security, clean energy, and how homes will be affected as the climate continues to change.

By the end of this course you should feel equipped to make well informed decisions related to climate change and sustainability.
